That\u2019s why NOAA and \nJMA have agreed to mutual back-up arrangements for their geostationary \nsystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True-color images like this one are produced using a new process \ncalled the Simple Hybrid Contrast Stretch (SHCS) method developed by the\n University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center and NOAA\u2019s\n Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR).
