06 Jan Wintry Weather for Central, Eastern United States
As suggested by this visible image captured by GOES East at 1945 UTC on January 5, 2017, wintry weather is in store for much of the central and eastern United States.
According to the National Weather Service, as the weather system responsible for these conditions moves eastward, areas from north Texas, to the northern parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley, Tennessee Valley, and Central Appalachians will receive snowfall. In between those regions and the coast, wintry mix and ice will be possible especially across the midsection of the Southeast and the eastern portions of the Carolinas.
